hi, first I can't help noting that you've made a mistake in your question. It should read "How long did it TAKE you to build a high level of self-esteem" Second, I haven't accomplished this yet. To gain a lot of self esteem, you need to get a high status in society, usually through coming into a big fortune, or earning a lot of money. Either is hard to do.

my whole life (but a large majority of it was in 8th grade), i still don't have really high self esteem. Like I hate reading in front of people and get nervous with individual presentations. I am learning more and more each day that I have no reason to not have high self-esteem.

Not really sure. I was the only male in a Sicilian family. I was kinda raised with praise, therefore I always had a fairly high self- esteem.:)
