i got my license sooooo long ago that they paid me to take gasoline off their hands. kind of what crack dealers allegedly do, give a couple of samples to get ya hooked and then, bamb, they spring the trap!!!

-
The same as a pack of cigarettes ...... 20 cents.

$.29! You could just about get four gallons for a buck instead of a quart of gas today! But just like today they didn't pay very well, but you were expected to break your back in return for that measly buck! Today the kids are more aware and not so willing to put out for that pitiful offer of pay! For minimum wage, I would laugh when they offer a position!
-
Bouncing between 89 and 99 cents.
-
$.59 Could fill my car up from empty for only $10.00

I'm going to answer this as it was posed. I got my "divers" licence twenty years ago now. A litre of gas went for around 27 cents. That would be close to a buck per gallon. Air was cheaper, still is. A diver's "licence" cost no gas. Ya sure you're not asking about a driver's licence? A tad different.
-
Just under a dollar. Video games costed about $30.00, which is right about as much as today. Television sets costed about twice what they do now, and computers with 64k memory costed about the same as one today with 40 meg or so. Minimum wage was $3.50/hour.
-
About $1.05. I didn't often buy gas and I didn't drive much at first. I was chauffer to my stepgrandmother and she bought the gas, as she was too ill to drive. She let me use the car occasionally as thanks for driving her around. She also taught me to drive and took me to take my driving test in her car.

-
I'm going to take a flying leap here and assume you meant when I got my driver's license, which was in 1958, gasoline was selling for 24 cents a gallon.
-
i think it's more of a certificate and a whole lot of common sense- maybe a permit depending where you are. even if i had a diver's license, why the heck would i even care how much gas costs? i would a use a sailboat to transport me out to sea, so gas is irrelevant.
-
That was a long time ago. I think it was about 36 cents a gallon at the Chevron or 76.
-
I had my DL when I was 18 years of age(23 years ago), and I believe a gallon of regular was about 95 cents. A huge difference huh?

37¢ per gallon. Back in those days, they used to have "gas wars" where competing gas stations would drop the price to as low as they could. During these gas wars, I saw the price go as low as 16¢ per gallon.

I get one every four years and I don't remember what gas costed each time.

Divers don’t need a gallon of gas. They just need breathing equipment for going underwater.

It was about .20 cents a gallon. I remember going to Mono lake for a pine nut gathering and the town of Lee Vining had the most expensive gas I had ever seen. It was .49.9 cents a gallon! 8/16/22
