When my four children were each seven months old, I breastfed them three times daily. If your child were on formular you would at least give them three meals of the formular in addition to some solids and other fluids, this is a guide that I used. Hope this helps.

They may only need to be fed three times daily, but I tend to nurse on demand still as long as its not too ridiculous. Sometimes they just need comfort and want to cuddle. Or you may have a snacker. There is so much going on for them at this age that most babies wont take it to extremes. And milk (breast or formula) is still their main source of nutrition at this stage.

Nurse on demand, there is no written rule on how much a seven month old should nurse. Nursing babies can not be compared to formula fed babies as far as number of ounces and number of feedings. Breastmilk is, nutritionally, a complete food and better absorbed, unlike formula. Breastfed babies tend to need to be fed more frequently. By seven months you know your baby best, listen to what your baby is telling you.

At seven months, my daughter was nursing around 8-12 times a day. She didn't start really eating solids until around 9 months (when she started eating the real thing, not purees).

On demand!

My baby is 7 months old at present and I breastfeed him 6 times a day, with often a top up before he has a nap. He is a reluctant solids eater and so needs milk to make up for it. He does sleep through tho' (10.30pm til 6amish)

I breastfeed on demand. It depends on how much she takes at the time, to how many times she will feed that day. If she has long feeds it is less, but some days she is such a busy bee that she just snacks on and off. That's how demand feeding goes! She is 9 months now. Totally different to my first who was bottlefed at regular and same time approximately each day. just go with your child, they are all different.

I nurse 6-8 times a day...ten minutes on each breast. She eats oatmeal in the morning and a vegetable or fruit combination in the evenings. she's 20 lbs...and very healthy. :-) she won't take a bottle though so my breast pumps are collecting dust....guess she'll going straight from breast to cup!

I believe if you keep them on a good schedule they will sleep better at night. I feed my first daughter at about the same time every day. About 4 times a day. She would go about 5hrs between feedings. So for example if she woke up at 6:00 that would be her first feeding. Then 11:00, 4:00, and usually I would go about 4hrs for the last feeding. So 8:00 or 8:30 would be her last feeding. I also gave her solids three times a day in between. I am curently doing this with my second child and it works well for us. Good luck!

As often as my child wanted or needed it. My kids self weaned. I don't think it is a good idea to limit breastfeeding, especially in the first year.

Mine will only nurse when he wants to go to sleep -- he nurses during naps in my lap and in the middle of the night. He will not drink from a cup or sippy cup so I am worried about dehydration (we live in CA where it is very hot). I still keep track and he is nursing a total of about 2 hours every day (including 2-3 feedings at night).

my daughter is now 8months old and i breastfeed her before the nights long nap once then when she wakes up in early morning aroung 6am then at 10am then at 2pm than at 4pm and then 8pm and at 10pm before she gets to long nights sleep. in between she gets fresh vegetable puree, vanilla cerelac, biscuit cerelac and fresh fruit puree. for sure the meals accompanied with water or juice or camomile tea. most preferable i give her camomile tea in the night with her dinner and then i breastfeed her till she falls asleep. her schedule of breastfeeding and eating is around the clock . i breastfeed her 5-6 times a day which i think is sufficient for her
