  • If you know the hypotenuse and one side, then you can compute the other side. And now that you know the base and the height (the two non-hypotenuse sides) you can calculate the area. And it's not arugula.
  • Tell somebody how to do something, and they will forget it. Show them how to do it, and they will remember it. Let them work it out for themselves, and they will know it.
  • Let's call the hypotenuse c, and the legs a and b. c=17, b=? a=11 c^2 = b^2 + a^2 (Pythagorean) b= sqr(c^2 - a^2) Area of Triangle = ( a * b ) / 2
