It doesn't bode well for the vegetarians, I don't think. What do you think? Would they be more upset than meat eaters?
-
Yummo !
-
Ewwww. Thanks for reminding me that I have almost eaten a leg of a cockroach, courtesy of a bread that my mom had bought.
-
I heard a lot of little critters are high in protein.
-
oh well. as long as i don't see it in my food while i'm eating it, it's fine.
-
Did we really need to know that?? I may never eat again.
-
I didn't whatsoever in any way, shape, form or fashion know that I was eating that many bugs. There are questions to ask. Maybe you would like to discuss this.
-
I suppose if i were a toad or frog, that wouldn't bother me. Once in a while i go to FDA recall site and i notice that most of that insect filth comes from Canada and is in canned vegetables.
-
Ewwwww! Even vegetarians? Yucky.
-
I wouldn't have been surprised if it had have been more even.
-
You need to put warnings on potentially traumatizing information like that. I'm now considering killing myself :D
-
Yuck!!!! Im glad i read this when id woke up and not before I went to sleep. thats horrible, Id rather eat something else lol.:-)+
-
I didn't know that but I've had my share of mosquitoes this summer!
-
Wow ! Lets hope they gave me a good portion of protein
-
That just sounds so damn tasty! Let me tell you!
-
Did you know that the ammount of insects that you will swallow in your sleep (Including spiders) is twice that?
-
Yes, I believe it. I've heard, that during your lifetime, you will eat seven to eight spiders while you are sleeping. I don't remember if it was the Discovery Channel, as Go_Know said.
-
haha sucks for vegetarians :P f**kin insects :S wtf! I don't go crawling in THEIR mouth when they sleep assholes
-
That's nothing, I saw a program where they take old animal bones and remove all the minerals until only a gelatin is left and they use that gelatin in many processed foods like ice cream and sauces! I like meat but who wants to eat old bones that have gone through hydrocloric acid then place it in your dinner?
-
Lovely!!! I just can't get enough of those bugs!!! <reaches into hair, pulls out a bug and eats it> Yummy!!!lol
-
Oh well. How do they know this anyway? Just wondering. It's not like they watched every single person on this Earth sleep. Did they?
-
Ewwww!!! Phyllis, that's gross!
-
That is true! The blood red color comes from a beetle. Enjoy your gum and other sweets!
-
The internets are lying to j00!!! Es not true
-
Well yes/ in the average life time you swallow about 3 small spiders per year.
-
1 500 grams divided by, say, 40 years = 37.5 grams a year; or about 100 milligrams a day. Sounds reasonable if one assumes it's in the processed and cooked foods. Perhaps vegans might even be eating more meat--such as in their vitamin gel caps.
-
YUMMY!
-
yeah :( i learned that awhile ago most of them you eat in your sleep i just try not to think about it and actively try to sleep with my mouth closed lol
-
3 LBS over a life time sounds low... but then what do i know lol..
-
More if you eat bugs deliberately
-
I believe it. And I think I already had more than my 3 lbs since I lived in a 3rd world country for awhile. Insects and bugs are a part of diet of some culture and I hope they are the ones bringing up the average.
-
thats disgusting, but probably true.+3
-
...and WHO did the research--and HOW was it done??
-
HAaaaaaaaAAaaaaaaaAAAAAAH! salted roast beetle with a little flavor of poop with Cricket chips a la sauce!! can i have some champagne?
-
Big Deal, I saw some idiots on the Food Network eating Bugs. Big ole suckers.
-
yeah, don't we eat about 14 spiders in our sleep by the time we die? or is it more??
-
Well, I have eaten chocolate covered insects before. That in conjunction with all the hot dogs I have eaten I'm prolly over 3 pounds.
-
Makes you hungry, doesn't it?
-
Yummy!
-
DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOUR EVER STRANDED AND ONLY BUGS ARE ABOUT, THAT PEOPLE CAN SURVIVE ON EATING BUGS.
-
Daily fare for some.
-
BUGS ARE FOOD, IF THERE IS'NT ANYTHING ELSE TO EAT. A DELICACY IS CHOCOLATE GRASSHOPPERS AND SILK WORMS. A LITTLE INSIGHT NEVER HURTS.
-
probably true, i read under a Snaple cap that the average human eats 8 spiders in their sleep during their lifetime! GROSS!!! :P
