My student loan is paid off last year I am now 37. $18,000 was the final amount. Tax returns and investments helped pay it off.

Here in Scotland it's free to study further and we don't need a "student loan".

Its not free. Someone had to pay for it. How is it funded? OOOOHHHHHH! So THAT'S why your income taxes are so much higher than ours! I'm curious to know what percentage of people paying for higher education actually get a degree... just looked it up 25% actually have degrees. That means 75% of the population are paying for an education they never receive.

I've never taken out a school loan. I paid my own tuition the first quarter and then got a Presidential Scholarship based on my GPA. VEAP which I contributed to while in the Navy paid enough to cover my books and gas.
