My sound system at full volume volume is only a comfortable listening volume why?

Not enough power would be my guess. That or you're just 70% deaf

your system is underpowered...! If you like the sound, but just not the volume, consider getting a larger power amp. Generally, you'll end up with a much more satisfying experience because a more powerful amp can handle transient spikes much, much better, like in bass rumbling, or sudden attacks on notes or sound effects, giving you the full effect. The volume knob should be well below halfway when a system is properly powered, and personally, I've found the best results when the volume is between 2 and 3 on the knob on a properly amplified system (between 150 - 200 watts for my speakers)... ;-)
