I don't think that's a wise word to use. Separation? It could be misinterpretted. Replacing that word with "difference", I will say that I really don't know. I used to think it was between 2 and 5 years. But there are a lot of people who want a much older (or younger) partner. I know women who like men to be 10 years older! But I suppose in the case of minors, it would be between 2 and 5 years.

I figure the average difference is c. 3 years (hubby being older). We are 6 months apart (we met at high school).

I would guess that the age diffence on average for couples would be anywhere from under a year, 66 days or so, to about 3 years, or a little more than that. My baby is 5 years younger than I, though my age disguises the youth of my soul.

The closer to your age the better but the best results come from a maximum of 3 years, but if your 18 no younger than 17 if your under 18 like 14 then 16 at the oldest. Age is more important than people want you to believe it is
