I know its not very cool, but I kind of liked Roger Moore. I feel like he kind of understood that you weren't supposed to take the films too seriously, he had this camp quality to him that I really like - he may not have been the greatest actor, but his films were definetely the most fun to watch. Pierce Brosnan I think took the role a bit too seriously and turned them into sex and action films, when originally they were so much more than that. On the other hand Sean Connery got the best stories, and clearly had by far the most sex appeal (He's probably the oldest man that I still find attractive). He also got Ursula Andress. Who was hot. OK- I'm on the verge of changing my mind........

I liked Roger Moore. Probably because of time when I grew up and first exposure etc. True Brosnan era films probably portrayed the character more correctly. The Moore films were a bit more comedic, but probably because of producers rather than Moores decisions or demeanor. I guess in my mind, Connery and especially Brosnan were just 'too cool'. A kind of 'fake cool' pervaded like when someone uncool tries to act cool. Make any sense?

Excellent question!! Brosnan. I've never been a fan of Connery playing him yet I really enjoy Sean's other performances. Dalton was bland and Moore mediocre (sub Connery). Brosnan brought a bit of an edge to the character that neither Moore nor Connery had. I have yet to see Craig do the job so my vote, to date is definitely Brosnan. If Craig goes above and beyond, that'll change. I'm curious. Why didn't you include Lazenby in the cut? He was in Her Majesty's Secret Service and that film is actually the catalyst for getting the entire saga on celuloid and a better Bond than either Connery or Moore. George got the job because Sean left the project.

Years ago, I looked forward to the day Pierce Brosnan would take on the role of James Bond. I loved him as an actor, and thought he would be the ultimate Bond. I was wrong. Sean Connery is the definitive James Bond. Always will be for me.

My favorite has always been Sean Connery, but I like the new one a lot. Haven't been a fan of any of the rest... particularly Timothy Dalton.. it may have been the lame storylines of the last few that just tainted my opinion of Bond in general. But Casino Royale was a great movie, with a great Bond.
