How did the phrase "the body is still warm" come to be coined to describe a situation whereby someone is over anxious in their attempt to take or receive the possessions of someone who has recently died or left a company or organization.

I can't speak to who may have specifically coined the phrase. The phrase itself plays off the idea that a body upon death will become cold and enter into a rigor mortis phase after about 12 hours, and the body maintains a slightly elevated internal temperature until approximately 24 hours following death. So, in conversation, this phrase would insinuate that somebody did not mourn the death or loss of the person or employee, and was seemingly shameless in their haste to capitalize on the loss. Whew! Sorry for the over-the-top anthropological analysis. :)
