I'd rather read

Read the book, I've already read this book, but now I listen to it to put me asleep... It pisses me right off when they don't pronounce peoples names or things like that the way I do... throws me off and ruins the whole ordeal!!
-
Read it. Hearing my own voices for the characters, and the narration in my own head does make for a better mental picture of everything and I can set my own mood for the action taking place.
-
Yup, read it. If I listened on tape, I'd be trying to strangle the reader by page two.
-
I would read it.
-
read it :)
-
I really enjoy listening to a book on tape. It's relaxing, plus great for imagination.
-
I would definitely read it as I dont get the same satisfaction by listening to something. you create your own imaginary world of the writer as you are turning pages. But with the tape you are at a loss with it. well you still can but it does not have the same effect.
-
I would rather read the book myself. My imagination works better that way.
-
I would rather read a book. Listening to a tape is more distracting for me.
-
Like many have said, listening to it on tape takes away that entire imagination thing and really getting into the story. I'd rather read the book. If I want to listen, I'll just rent the movie based on the book if there's one available. XD

Read a book
-
Read it. If I really enjoy it I can listen to it on tape when I am cleaning, but I will never listen to a book I never read first.
-
I like to do both. If I have time, I will read a book, if not, I will lesten to one while I'm driving.
-
I tried to listen to a book about Krakatoa on CD but the guy's voice was rather irritating yet I struggled to listen to it all. No, it is strictly music on CDs for me. P.S. you still have tapes !?!?!
-
Read it, for sure. On tape, they read slower than I do mentally. I like it being just me and the book and nothing else.
-
Read it, without a doubt!
-
I used to prefer reading, but found books on tape during my daily 2 hour commute was an excellent way to pass the time. Now I prefer listening to books and doing other things at the same time (knitting, cleaning, working, etc.).
-
read it. voices of other people don't always fit.
-
Depends on where I am. I like to read books, but if I'm driving I think I might enjoy an audio book.
-
read it. i'd have a better picture of it.
-
There are no audio-books down here, except those for children. So, there is no dilemma.
-
read it for sure. I love ready.
-
READ IT
-
I would rather read it.
-
READ- but books on tape is kind of nice for long car rides.
-
when I do long drives I love a good book on tape but also because my time is limited I do prefer audiobooks during fall-spring. I have more time in the summer.+2

I once tried listening to a book on tape, because I had a very long road trip and nothing to keep me awake, and it took sooooo long and I only ever made it through half the book! It was a gripping murder-mystery with sex scenes and violence and everything that would normally make you not be able to put it down. But on tape it just dragged on and on and on.... and then my road trip was over and I just could not get myself to spend the days it would have taken to listen through the rest.
-
I'd much rather read it; it's more interesting that way and keeps me engaged. If I listen to books on tape I find my mind wandering to other things.
-
I like to read the book, but audiobooks aren't bad I just rather read it myself. I think that the people who read the books on tape kind of diminish what I think the characters are supposed to sound like. If I read it to myself then the mystery is still there.
-
I listened to the last book of the Twilight series on my ipod. I was glad to not ruin my actual book, but I know i zoned out on many parts.
-
Reading books in much better then on tape. Sometimes the book of a film is better than the movie also.
-
I'd rather read a book.
-
Read it, I have to stop and re-wind it if it is an audio book, because I forget where I was at, and also, I feel like I have to do something if I'm listening to an audio book, ^_^
-
Read. I've listened to a couple on tape but it's not the same thing. I don't want to multi task I want to relax and immerse myself in the story.
-
read it
