I was going to say look for Ben Stein sound bytes. There was a comedian I think his name was Stephen Wright, or something to that effect. He was very monotone.

Speaking in a monotone is when you talk and don't change the "tone", or level, of your vioce. Mono neans one, so you have mono-tone. It's when you talik and don't change the pitch of your voice, you just keep talking using the same note.

Surely they can understand what mono means . Speaking on one level with no change in pitch ,tone or inflection.
