no ...never have ..grew up next to the beach and could surf before I could walk...lol, but I never do/did stupid things either like swim in dirty/murky water ...late at night or at dawn ..I have got more chance of getting hit by a six wheeled bike riden by a one armed one legged blind person than getting attacked by a shark... so no they don't worry me

Their are scarier things than sharks....We don't live in the ocean and there are definitely crazy and crazy things we have to deal with "above water"....

They only scare me when I'm swimming through a cloud of chum off of the coast of northern Australia, South Africa, or in the red triangle off of the coast of California. ;) Actually if I saw one in the water where I and/or anyone else was swimming then I would be scared. Other than that though, I respect them as essential predators.

Being from the Canadian prairies and all, I can't say as I feel overly threatened by sharks... except Landshark...

Not really. I mean yeah they can be quite big and have the ability to rip peoples limbs off quite easily, but then again so can guns and bombs, and I'm not particularily afraid of them. Sharks are misunderstood sometimes. Sure they have killed people but humans kill them too! I don't think about sharks when i'm swimming at the beach anyway!

They all do because even the non-flesh eating sharks are capable of inflicting life ending damage. Even the benign whale sharks have been reported to have killed people. It's just in the shark nature. BEWARE!

Yes, especially because of the movie Jaws. I am only afraid of sharks because I can't swim and would sink like a stone in deep water. I associate deep water with the great white shark.

no, of course if placed in a situation on which i would be swimming in the vast open ocan and suddenly saw a triangular fin break the surface a few yards from me and start to circle about me getting closer, then maybe owuld i actually fear a shark, it's relative

I live in a paradoxical universe when it comes to sharks. I read the book Jaws and watched the film, this inspired a life - long fascination with them. I then went out and bought every book I could afford on the subject. I have at least 25 - 30 now. So whilst I agree totally with the assertion that ignorance breeds fear, I now know that sharks are nowhere near as dangerous as people think. Having said that, I would still poo my swimming cozzy should I happen to come across one on Cleethorpe's beach lol. However then I'd consider myself to be the luckiest person alive to have experienced such a (j)aw - inspiring moment, and lived to tell the tale.

No. I have seen couple in the sea with me which through my instincs told me to get out of it's way. Sharks are highly misunderstood creatures. The only reason there are deaths to sharks are because they want to know what you are and the only way to do that is to taste. I am more afraid of humans than sharks.

Not particularly... I've been in a dive-cage before, and although I was a little nervous at first, I realized the sharks were merely curious about us. They were more interested in the food than me or the other diver. The biggest shark we saw was only about 10 feet long...

Of course sharks scare me. While I know that only 80% of the shark species (there are between 375 an 475 shark species), only 20% are known to have been involved in shark attacks (provoked and unprovoked, a total of 39 shark species recorded in such attacks), it does not stop me from fearing them. After all, we owe them some respect since we are going into their habitat.
