Um, well, that's a good question. Generally, any general Microsoft Intellimouse or Logitech USB mouse should do the trick. I like to stick with "brand" names just to be sure I'm getting at least 400dpi (dots per inch). The higher the dpi the more sensitive or "accurate" the pointing device. Probably the best gaming mouse out there is the Logitech dual-optical mouse. Not only does it do away with the gunk collecting mouse-ball but with dual-optical sensors it provides 800dpi. BAM! Headshot! :o)

Be advised that although the Razor Boomslang is a nice mouse, the company that makes them just recently declared bankruptcy. I do believe they were bought out and the new company has said it will continue making Boomslang products, but for warranty's sake be careful.

My favorite mouse of all time is the Logitech Mouseman Ball Mouse. I repeat Ball.... It is wireless though. I've got issues with optical mice; I think they have a slow response time. The Mouseman is ergonomically designed to fit your hand, but you might wand to turn off the web wheel. The only problem is, they're impossible to find anymore. Hope it helps!!

Optical ones. Nothing gets jammed into the ball and makes your character stand there and look dumb instead of turning to the side.

The mouse should be: a) a laser or optical mouse b) light enough that you can move it around quickly c) wired (never use a wireless mouse for gaming) d) extra buttons to make tasks easier (if you want)
