it is earlier as well as it is extended into November. It is to save energy...that's why THEY changed it. It started last year

to save power

so they can save on energy. If I had my way there would not be daylight savings time. It would be the same all year long.

If I'm not mistaken, it is. Apparently "This is the second year that Daylight Saving Time is four weeks longer due to the passage of the Energy Policy Act in 2005. The Act, which extends Daylight Saving Time by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, is expected to save 10,000 barrels of oil each day through reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours." http://geography.about.com/cs/daylightsavings/a/dst.htm

They must not think we use lights in the morning. This whole concept is new to most of us in Indiana. I still have mixed emotions about it.

It supposedly is to save energy by giving people more daylight during business hours but it's bunk! What about all the people who work or get up early? What about farmers in the dark and children who wait in the dark for the bus in the mornings??? I need more daylight hours in the morning, not at night. Evening is when I'm done for the day. I don't visit businesses. IN fact most businesses are done for the day. Silly law!

They put up some legislation to make the period of daylight savings time longer. It is supposed to be better or save more energy. Maybe it might work.

I have no clue, I live in one of the few states that does not observe day light savings time so I'm not too sure when it normally starts or not.

Our DST has been scheduled to start on the 2nd Sunday in March & last to the 1st Sunday in November for a good number of years. It is early this year, but it is due to the calendar not the powers that be screwing with us..
