I would check on this website, there are several manuals but not sure if they go back to 1986, but maybe there are similiarities between your car and the same model but a little newer. http://www.arnottindustries.com/manuals/index.asp

You should check out the Lincoln Town Car rear air suspension compressor at strutmasters.com If you can do brakes you can install their conversion kits yourself. http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-town-car-suspension-s/37.htm
