Yes, I can't imagine any other reason why else you would say it. You can love anyone, the definition on love is: a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. So I can love my sister and truely mean it, I can love my House and truely mean it. It doesn't mean you want to have sexual relations with that person.

The term I love you is so over used. I dont say it unless I truly mean it. I would rather have someone say the LIKE me and mean it then tell me that they love me just because they think that is what I want to hear. Don't say it unless you mean it.
