Have a 6 disk in the car but I listen to XM most of the time. I think the player has my steopson's J-Pop disk's in it for when he borrows it.

In my car. The 8-track was getting really hard to find tapes for.

I still have a few. Also, a VCR and a turntable. What am I supposed to have? Am I hopelessly out of touch?

Is this unusual? I own a large collection of CD's. and a player. My vehicle is also equipped with a CD player.
-
Me, but only because my friends like to bring music over.
-
Who needs to spend all that money to get a gadget that holds more songs than you could ever listen to? My CD player is also a radio. The world beckons.

I love CDs. I really like to hold an artist's album in my hands with all the tracks in the order the band decided on, all the art work just as the designer intended... I'm both a musician and a graphic designer, so you can probably see where I'm coming from here. I also have a tape deck and a vinyl record player. I love vinyl more than life itself.
-
I have one as part of my shelf system that actually has a dual tape deck. I bought it in the late 90's. The cd player is a 3 cd changer. I also have a portable cd player that can also play mp3 discs.
-
Me! :-)

I DO! I think MP3's, Zunes, IPods, & music cell phones are TOO much.
-

I own several CD players. I think I'll be selling a couple of them at my first tag sale.

I do, and many other. People want to play their old CD:s.
-
does the one built in to my laptop count?
-
I do. I hardly ever use it. My wife uses it all the time. I also have a tape player and a vynl record player (needle may need replacement). I have a 10 yr. old truck and it has a tape play in it. No CD player.
-
i do, but use it like once a year :D
-
I do, and if you want the best sound available today it's the only source in town. mP3 files are 1/10 of the actual music information. For every 10 bits of music information that there is, the MP3 file records only 1 the other 9 are tossed and the premise is that your mind will make up the difference. If you play an MP3 song next to a store bought cd same song the cd version will blow it away with detail, dynamic sound, bass, sound stage, general overall great full sound. If there is 15 songs on a cd then you can put 150 songs on a cd in MP3 format. Mp3 definitely has its place but for critical listening there's no comparison, non nada not even a little bit.
-
i love my cd player! i buy cds all the time, in fact, i bought 2 yesterday. if u dont have internet or anything, the only way forward is cds for some people

I own a 200 slot CD jukebox, part of my entertainment center. I have 2 portable players, not used much. My car has a 6 CD changer. I have a boombox with a CD player at work.

I still have a portable sony CD player somewhere, although I don't know if it still works (but considering it's a sony product, I doubt it :D ) The batteries used to last a ridiculously long time for a CD player
