Well I dont know the cause of it but it is called bile, it is normal in dogs. But ask your local vet.

This is normal. Depending on how long it has been going on. If only for a short while, say 3 months, I wouldn't worry. Anything past that, I would take your dog to the vet. Sometimes, dogs ingest too much food or water. If the color of it looks like the food, your dog could be eating too much. Try giving her/him 3 handfulls of food per day in her/his dish. If this does not reduce vomiting, take your chihuahua to the vet. Also, if you feed him/her table scraps, try to cut down on what you are giving him/her. If you cannot bare the sad face feed him/her things like vegetables or lunchmeats=)

Hi, I had the same problem with one of my chihuahuas, it started off infrequently like your dog however, it became more prevalent, it turned out he was allergic to a few foods and he had to be put onto Hypoallergenic dog biscuits by Royal Canin. I have two other chihuahuas and they also take the same biscuits, that way nobody gets any reactions, and it cured the problem. It is very rare now he gets any bile reflux or vomiting. boodybo4
