This past summer I decided to try my hand at karate, but after I got kicked horribly in the nuts by my son's freckled faced, red-headed 13 year-old friend (who already holds a black belt at his tender age and, incidentally, can break boards with a single kick!) I immediately gave it up. It was partly my fault--I did not wear one of those hard plastic, athletic "cups" before I challenged the little fellow. I thought it was not necessary because I didn't expect the boy to go for my gonads. But he did, and I ended up on the ground crying and shaking uncontrollaby for a good 15 minutes, after almost being "emasculated" with near fatal results! The boy's reaction? He was cooly nonchalant: "Sorry I kicked you in the balls mister." Ugh, never again will I take up martial arts!

Ive studied judo, i prefer it because you can use all your strength in combats, without hurting the opponent. Its more defensive than violent, so if it comes to a real fight, judo needs to be combined with techniques from other martial arts. Here some awesome throws, world's best judo. Especially "the Sode Tsuri Komi Goshis" on 2:43 look astonishing!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dygKP-25WLs
