He could of faked his death.He had plenty of money and his career was waning quickly.Sometimes people get tired of being in the spotlight or are ashamed of not being in the spotlight.I know he was not healthy in 1977 and was overweight but not everyone dies from being overweight.Many regular people fake their deaths,and for many reasons,why could not an entertainer.

no, of course not. his family collected millions from life insurance and his estate and those legal types don't pay up easily. if there wasn't a clearly recognizable body, it couldn't have happened
