  • In the orginal Wizard of Oz in the scary forest, if you look closely you can see a stage hand hang himself..;)
  • My favorite would be "Star Wars". After destroying the death star everyone is celebrating and Luke is running up to hug Lehia (sp?) and he shouts "Carrie". They must have fixed this in the later versions, but it was there, plain as day in the original.

  • I don't think it was a car. It was some sort of thingy under the chariots to make them run.
  • In Come back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean..they show an old group photograph of themselves..and then later the 'same' photograph but their positions have changed.
  • In the Rocky Horror Picture Show, there are three easter eggs that show up onscreen. Apparently the crew had an egg hunt over easter, and they didn't find these three. One is under Frank N Furter's throne One is in the elevator on the way to the Lair One is in place of a lightbulb in the hallway when Brad and Janet enter the castle. Also, there's a site I go to to look these things up: http://eeggs.com
  • This movie called The Hidden has several glaring mistakes. One of them is this big boom mike that is plain as day for a few seconds. Another one is this scene where this guy falls from a building and as he hits the ground you can clearly see the bag he fell on. I can't imagine that editor still has a job right now.
  • A famous one is Raiders of the Lost Ark - when Indiana Jones falls into the snake pit and comes face to face with a cobra you can see the glass separating them. And Star Wars has loads famously the Storm Trooper bashing his head on the raising door in A New Hope. Something of a classic now. Also there is a scene where you can see Vader's light sabre is just a metal pole. Curiously they never fixed this in the later editions, maybe again it is a bit of a classic and Lucas felt it should be left as it is. Or maybe he didn't know, who can say?
  • This a rather esoteric one but in a scene from "Gladiator" where Russel Crowe's character is supposedly in Africa(?) you can see Lone Pine peak in the background. Lone Pine peak is about 5 or 10 miles west of Lone Pine, California, USA. :D I guess the director or editor didn't think that any Sierra Nevada backpackers would be watching. ;)
  • I remember in the movie "Darkman" (back before either Liam Neeson or Sam Raimi were household names) there's a scene where the Neeson is supposed to be dangling from a cable attached to a helicopter flying over a highway; but on the street, you can clearly see the shadow of the arm of the crane the cable was actually attached to. Then there's the scene in "The Empire Strikes Back" where Han nearly kisses Leia, only to be interrupted by C-3PO -- you can see a piece of Threepio's arm falling off... Oh, and how about in "The Two Jakes" (which is supposed to be set in the 1940's), when Jack Nicholson walks past an ATM...?
  • I don't recall which movie it was, but a man was talking on a phone. At some point, you see the back of the phone and there is no phone line going into the phone jack on it. I noticed this because I owned the same phone at the time. SILLY! :)
  • Another "Gladiator" ~ in one scene you can see Brad Pitts rolex watch. Another movie I think it was "Helen of Troy" there is a jet in the sky!
  • In "Rumble In The Bronx" there are a few scenes where you see mountains in the background. I've lived in New York all my life and there are no mountains to be seen anywhere in the Bronx. lol The movie was filmed in Vancouver.
  • Oh gosh, have you ever seen Logan's Run? :p
  • I'm usually not one to notice them a lot, and I can't seem to think of any that I did manage to notice but one. There's a movie probably from the late 80's or early 90's where two girls are in the FBI school, one is a cop and is good at the physical stuff and the other is better at the academic stuff. The academic one was going to quit and she was packing her stuff and taped the box shut but one flap was still up. She picked up the box and when she turned around the whole top was taped down nicely. Oh, and I think it was in Almost Famous near the end when the singer was in the boys room and he grabbed the chair and turned it around to sit down, there was a shirt or something on the chair then it was gone. I know I've noticed more recently, but I just can't remember them right now. Oh, this isn't in a movie, but I also remember one time in Grey's Anatomy where McDreamy wrapped his headphones around his ipod and put it in his pocket while talking to someone in the elevator, then the headphones were hanging around his neck again.
  • IMDB (Internet Movie Database) is great for information about this. One that sticks out in my mind is 'The Invisible Man' when he was running through the snow, the footprints are from shoes, not bare feet.
  • Have you ever seen the film Breathless. Dude! That one is rife with editing mistakes!
