Yes... and I have. It was lovely.
-
Yes I went to a friends gay wedding.
-
Yes I have they are beautiful!!!!!!!!
-
Yes and yes. I don't see a difference between it and going to a "Straight Wedding".
-
I have participated in one.
-
I haven't, but I would have liked to attended my neighbours' wedding. (They were married before I knew them well enough to be good friends, but they're a couple of the nicest people I've ever known.)
-
No not yet....maybe my invite got lost in the mail.
-
Never been to one. The criteria for me attending would be the same as for a M-F wedding. In other words, I don't go to every wedding I'm invited to....
-
I would if I they were my friends.
-
Yes, I would, and Yes, I have. I even participated in one by singing for my friends at their ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony, and the reception was a blast!
-
I have never attended one, but if I was invited by a friend who is gay, I would attend.
-
I've never been to one, but I definitely would go to one if invited...
-
Yes and Yes, and one of the people getting married was even wearing some of my clothes.
-
No I have never been to a gay wedding. I would be more than happy to go to one if invited.
-
Yes I would in a minute. Never been to one, none of my gay friends are interested in getting married right now. :(
-
my cousin is getting married to her girlfriend! yay! i am going to be the maid of honor. :)
-
Yes I would.... no I haven't. I don't have any gay friends and it's not legal here.... It should be but NC government is ignorant. ... bleh.
-
no but intrested in attending
-
yes i would go to one i havnt been yet but if i was invited i would go i dont have anything against homosexuals because if they love each other so much then y not get married....
-
Yes I've been to one. Well, a "Civil Partnership Ceremony" - it was quite emotional because at the time the guys getting married were born, homosexual acts were still technically illegal in the UK - so it was lovely to see how far we've come.
-
yes of course i would. if i got and invite to the wedding it obviously means they are my friends or relatives.
-
I would go but I haven't had the opportunity yet.
-
Only yours Frank ;)
-
I have been to several, I live in Massachusetts ground zero for gay weddings...I was also a bartender in a gay bar and we did about 25 receptions.....
-
I've never been to one, but I'm going to be a part of one next summer - my own! Super exciting!
-
A few. The best one was outdoors, and the weather was perfect. One of the guys was a priest years ago, but left because he wanted to be open. When he said "I do" there was a huge clap of thunder and a storm rolled in. The only thing he said was "well, there's a sign!". Everyone laughed, we went into the house and had the recception. He will never live that one down.
-
Yes I have...Yes I would...and I'd like to have my own if I can just get my beloved to think a bit more positively about MARRIAGE in general..... Us she is good to go with..."Marriage" she has "issues" with... : (
-
I would gladly go. But I haven't yet.
-
of course I would! my friend Danny and his partner had a commitment ceremony a couple months ago, but it was in Destin, FL. only his family was able to go (we had no vacation days or money for tickets). we did go to the reception they had when they got home. my partner and I participated in a group commitment ceremony last year at St. Louis Pridefest. we'd really love to have our own with just our family and friends. but, we'd really prefer to have a legal marriage as soon as these bigoted laws are over-turned... ...and I'll send out invites to all my AB friends!
-
I don't have any gay associates so I doubt this would ever come up. As far as I can see, I am retired from even attending hetero weddings, they are boring and usually end in divorce shortly thereafter.
-
Of course!! i have been to a friend's civil union up in Belfast (Northern Ireland), it hasn't been legalised yet but hopefully by next March we will have civil unions in Ireland :)
-
I would, if I knew one or more of them well enough to have been invited. My cousin and her partner had a short engagement and did not give me enough notice to make arrangements to attend, so I missed it. They were both CSI lab techs who now work as instructors at the R.C.M.P. academy in Regina, Sask., so I would have liked to have seen a room full of cops with a few of our farmer relatives at a bride & bride wedding. ... they sent a VHS copy of the wedding video, it was beautiful ...
-
i have. two wedding dresses and twice the love. a party and pretty dresses is my idea of a good time
-
you know i did
-
I went to my nephew's, it was beautiful, had a great service and reception.
-
I have never been invited to one, but I would definitely go. If they are people I love and/or care for, I would love to show my support for their marriage. Unfortunately for me, I live in a state that hasn't come to their senses and has not yet legalized gay marriage, so that may not come for a while.
-
No I havent been to one. However I would attend one if invited and I knew the couple.
-
I have been to lots of them. Why would anyone not go to them? The participants are just as much in love.
-
no i have not but i would like to go. I think that stuff is awesome and should be excepted fully....its a shame that it isn't. :(
-
Yeah I would, and yes, I've already been to several.I love weddings in general. Gay/straight, live or on tv, I cry like a baby.
-
I have went to two, one of which i played acoutic guitar at as the walked to the front.... it was nice
-
No.
-
So long as I know the people getting married, absolutly I would go. I just dislike going to ANY wedding that I don't know the bride or groom. Feels so uneasy to just show up and not know anyone.....
-
yes i would go. however my friends don't think i'm worth the price of a meal. :(
-
Im going to a friend's wedding in Canada next year. Im so excited!!!! :D
-
I havent never gone to one but I would go.
-
Yes I did, kind of, and it was MINE! I was working fulltime and going to college at night until I graduated last year, so I was always the most overdressed member of my class since I'm in banking and am in suits and BOW ties daily. This one friend of mine from school was a bit of a nut and loved my "buttoned-up and formal" look or, as she later called it, my "about to be wed" look. She ran a group on campus and last year talked me into being in a "mock wedding," for lack of a better term. Thing was, the group was the gay-straight alliance, or something like that, and the mock wedding was the highlight of their "Gay Wedding Day" event. When she talked me into being in it, (even though I'd only dated women - ever!) I had no idea how HUGE it would be. The wedding was actually held in a church near the campus and performed by a lady minister. My groom was a guy who was a member of the gay-straight alliance. She had us both wear navy blue suits (since we both had them and it was cheaper than tuxes), with very starched (how I wear them) white shirts, and navy blue bow ties (with a little bit of a print, the tie-it-yourself kind, of course!), and of course matching white rose and baby's breath boutonnierres. I was nervous as hell, naturally, and she got me to the church about an hour before the wedding and stashed me in a sitting room till it was time for the wedding to begin. They finally came and got me, then brought my groom out and had him put his right arm through my left, made sure our bow ties and collars and suits were just right, then positioned us outside the door into the main church. When they opened the doors into the main church, there's the minister waiting for us down at the end of the aisle and the place was PACKED. Probably a couple hundred people. Next thing I know the organist was blaring out The Wedding March and there I am walking very slowly down the aisle with my groom on my arm, both of us all buttoned-up and formal in our suits and stiff white collars and bow ties and being wed in front of a church-full of people. It couldn't have been more real. As soon as The Wedding March started playing and we started walking down the aisle, feeling my groom's arm in mine, it may as well have been for real. I remember thinking, "This is my wedding and I'm being wed to my groom!" As far as I was concerned, I was really being wed. On top of that, my sister knows this friend of mine, so naturally she found out about the wedding, and naturally she told my mother, who said, "I have GOT to see this!" So among those in attendance as I was being wed to my groom was my mother, sister, and a couple of aunts and cousins, and a neighbor. Everyone got all dressed up for the occasion, and the way my mother was you'd have thought it was a real wedding. There was all the "Dearly beloved" stuff and our "I do's" and joining hands and reciting our wedding vows and the rings and "With this ring, I thee wed." Finally, the minister pronounced us "wed as groom to groom" and "You may now kiss your groom." So my first kiss with a guy was at the end of my wedding kissing my groom! Heck of a way to come out.

I really want to.I haven't been to gay wedding, but I always want to.
-
I am attending such a grand event in June. Conversely, I have a "straight" marriage to attend that month also, that I'm not looking forward to so much.
-
I have not been invited to one as of yet, but sure, I'd go to one.
-
havent gone to one but I'd love to go. seems like fun
-
Yes, I would, and no, I haven't. But I will.
-
Well certainly a symbolic if not legal gay wedding. I live in a state where gay marriage is not legal. Going to a gay wedding in a state where legal might be too expensive a commute.
-
Of course I would, hopefully my own someday!
-
I went to mine this past spring... it sure was a gay old time :)
-
Yes, I would if I was invited and no, I haven't.
-
Yes indeed I would. There is a few friends I would love to see tie the knot.
-
Yeah ofcourse. I have been to a few and unfortunately it's not so easy on the guests or the individuals getting married because often you have to go to Canada, or across the country just to attend, but that's what you do when you respect and love your friends. You appreciate the extra mile that we as gay people go just to validate our love for our partners, yet we are denied the right to marry in most states, and at the same time, we are largely charachterized and portrayed as people incapable of monogamous healthy loving relationships.... Rather Ironic when Britney Spears pulls a prank and marries a friend for 12 hours just for the fun of it. The " sanctity of her 12 hour marriage " Is overwhelmingly more powerful and respected than the rights of gay and lesbians and their partners rights in hospitals, court rooms, funerals etc.
-
Sure, actually I went to one more than 20 years ago. I suppose it wasn't legal but they were happy and that's what counted.
-
If invited yes I would go...No I have not been to one/
-
I'm planning on having a Gay wedding...
-
When I was a little girl(five or six years ago during the reign of the dinosaurs), I had the pleasure of being the flower girl at my godmothers' wedding. Sure it was 90degrees in the humid Florida wilderness, but I worked my little lacey tail off running ahead of the bride, tossing flowers in people's faces.
-
If they bribed me enough.
-
Yes I did...my ex-gf's, and my then current gf wouldn't come with me(we were at the start of many problems). It was pretty cool, a little hard. I flew into town early to help out, and she was happy I was there as her now-wife was busy with lots of bridal things, and her own family, who was VERY supportive weren't being very helpful, so I did errands, etc. I also offered to do the videography (it was kinda new then, and I had taken some college media training), but it ended up being very hard because my eye had to be TRAINED right on them instead of looking normally, so I fiddled WAY too much with the zoom, etc. Even though we had owned 2 houses together we had decided not to have any sort of ceremony, but maybe we should have. Her now wife (they just had their second baby!) was bound and determined to have the whole deal and didn't even question the options, partly because she id's as bi, I guess, and she was almost a decade younger. It was interesting too because her dad is a presbyterian minister, and the ex and I were more pagan/nature worshippers. The arch of the pres church had both a horizontal and vertical aisle that crossed, in a cross, so they had family members escort each other and themselves from the 4 corners to meet in that cross, carrying symbols of the elements, and then walked up to the alter where her dad and a woman priest officiated. The wife's sister was a law student and had given them info for pamphlets and a poster about the lack of legality for this whole thing, about 7 years ago, in OH. So that's my story.
-
Of course I would!
-
Of course. I have friends who have been legally married in Canada, in Belgium, and in California.
-
I'm gay. Live in Canada. I'm legally married. We had an amazing wedding. Tonnes of family & friends. Both our parents walked us down the aisle. We we're married at the Unitarian Church. We're not religious people by any means, but somewhat traditional. We had a reception after professional photos. Lots of dancing and speeches. We only invited people that were "cool" with it, and not inviting people that we "had" to invite because it would put someone else's "nose" out of joint. And everyone came. We had comments in a book saying it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding. Not at all like the typical wedding. Our photographer said that him & his wife took pictures the previous weekend and the "straight" couple looked "bored" already. We had love and loads of fun. Even after years of being married now, people still talk about our wedding and how amazing it was!!!
-
Yeah, one. It was way funner than the other 5-6 weddings I've been too. :P
-
Frank, where did you go?
-
Although I have not, I think that a wedding is a wedding. Witnessing two people pledge their love is an amazing thing! Their gender/orientation means nothing to me.
-
Yes, why wouldn't I?
-
Should I be priviledged enough to be invited I wouls surely go. Yes I have been to a gay marriage and that was my own.
-
I will be going to my own. When it get legalized I hope.
-
3 including my own
-
Yes I would go to a gay wedding if they were a friend of mine. The only type of wedding I wouldn't go to is a polymorous wedding, but there isn't too many of those.
-
If i didnt i think my partner would be a bit upset with me ha ha
-
i never have but i would go to a gay wedding just a much as i would go to a straight one to me it doesn't matter who they're marrying...i just like the cake
-
If I was invited and it fit my schedule, sure.
-
If I had friends who were getting married and I were invited certainly I'd go. :)
-
Sure I'd go to one if I was invited, but I would need transportation to and from the wedding.
-
I would love to go to one, but I have not
-
I went to my own 'Gay wedding' in Europe.
