My 7 1/2 month old shit zhu pees all over herself and half the time doesn't even know she is doing it. I heard there is an over the counter pet meds that can help strengthen her bladder. Any body know what it is called? Thanks

This is something that would be better diagnosed by your vet. It may be something more serious, and you don't want to diagnose your dog yourself. Good luck!

I had a Peke that had reoccuring bladder stones. This caused her to pee around the house alot. I believe this can be common in these types of breeds. There is a surgery to remove stones that is resonable. Although, there is also a necessary test to diagnose that will obviously also cost you. There is food that you can put the dog on (vet will inform) that will balance the PH levels to prevent the stones. If she is licking herself "down there" a lot it is a good indication that it could be stones. Other than that, I have a 3 year old Shitzhu male that pees like crazy, he needs to be walked a lot or he will lift his leg in the house. He has no health problems that would cause this and although he is not fixed, the vet tells me that being fixed will not necessarily curb the problem. Hope that's a start for you but I agree, you should just go to the vet to be sure.

I would not self-diagnose or medicate until you check with the vet. You could be making the problem worse. It could be that she has not been potty trained correctly or doesnt get let out for potty breaks often enough. She's still a puppy. It could be nerves and every time she gets excited she pees. I had a male poodle that had self-confidence issues. Every time there was a to-do made about coming home or excited to see each other the noise scared him and he peed. I can't tell you how many times i was peed on but I never made a big deal out of it and eventually it was okay. Im not recommending you do that but perhaps trying to keep things calm. It could be a urinary tract infection or a bladder problem. Id make sure my pup got a vet exam. Has she been spayed yet? It prevents certains cancers and should have been done a couple months ago.
