I have a condo on the 2nd floor. I have gypcrete under my carpet. I would like to have a hard surface floor installed. What kind of flooring can I install over the gypcrete and will it be noisy for the downstairs neighbor.

You can install laminate floors, or a type of wood floor that is put together like laminate, but it's real wood. Both of these will be quiet to the people downstairs. Of course, there is always ceramic or porcelain tile. Each have their advantages. Both are tough and wear well. With porcelain tile, the color goes all the way through, so should it ever chip, there won't be a white spot like there would be with ceramic. The advantage of ceramis is cost. It is usually cheaper than porcelain.
