Pâté. hmmmm. I love it!!! I think it's a delicacy. I take French class and they had a cheese/pâté tasting thing once with French bread, it was godly...
-
Blech! That's a no.
-
I haven't tried it, but it doesn't look that appetizing.
-
Aye..indeed. Although not as a young lad :)

Okay, I am going to make a liver fan out of a few of you who are adventurous and willing to try something new. This is my dear wife's recipe. Calf's Liver with Dubonnet and Orange. (4 persons) 4 slices of best, fresh calf's liver. I like thick. 1/2 medium onion large dab of butter One tablespoon orange juice 4-6 ounces Dubonnet Chop the onion finely, saute in the butter until soft, not brown. Remove the onion, keep warm Season the liver slices, a pinch of salt, then dust with flour. Place in saute pan, adding a little butter if necessary Cook on very low flame, turning the slices until you see the blood begin to rise on the upper surface. Leave them PINK--don't be afraid. D rain the surplus butter from the pan, heat it, pour in the Dubonnet, and scape the paN with a wooden spoon. Let the Dubonnet simmer for a few moments, then add the orange juice and a pinch of salt and pepper. Heat again, pour over the liver. NOTE: There is big difference between CALF's liver and steer liver. Make sure you get Calf's Liver. NOTE: You can use the Dubonnet, Orange juice, Onion, and butter together to sautee the liver. But--DON'T BE AFRAID TO SERVE IT PINK.

why would i want to make a fan out of liver?
-
Oooooh yes!!! Marinated in red wine, coated in seasoned flour and gently fried with bacon and onion. Bring it on!!!!
-
Oh i just love liver, braised with onions and served with mash and gravy... but im banned from eating it in the house as the family hate the smell of it cooking, so one of the elderly couples i work for make it for me in their house lol!!
-
Yucky ... You won't catch me eating it as long as I "liver". hee hee
-
I like mine just fine, it does a good job. I have no desire to eat one. p.s.- sometimes my liver is not a big fan of mine.
-
I tried it one time and almost barfed from the texture and the smell. Plus it was cooked in my second least favorite food onions. And you do know it's the body's toxin filter? It's full of all sorts of nasty stuff. None for me, thanks.
-
Much better than a dier.
-
Heck no!
-
Not so much...
-
Love it!
-
Not at all :)
-
sounds like you,re talking about a movie rather than something as simple as a pan of half cooked liver don,t be afraid...........
-
Not at all, its an ORGAN! There is something about eating and organ that makes me go all wriggly and weird inside... bleh
-
Sometimes, as long as it comes with LOTS of bacon and frien onions!
-
fried Chicken liver and fried beef liver with fried onions... mmmm I like it.... I am weird I know... I have eaten it since I was little and it makes me feel better so I like it.... I am borderline anemic and liver helps me feel so much less weak! I've grown to like the flavor too.... geez I want some now too!
-
Never had and never will.

I love well made liver. I love cooking it with onions and cognac, wine or orange juice. I especially love rabbit liver. It's so delicate and tender, it's even great for breakfast, not strong and overwhelming like a lot of beef liver. Deer liver is also great if you soak it overnight in milk and then cook it with orange juice. We consider it a delicacy.
-
I'm a liver lover!
-
I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to food, but I cannot STAND liver.
-
Mine is fairly healthy, and I plan on keeping it that way. As far as eating liver, no thanks. Liver is one of the reasons I am a vegetarian. Why would someone want to eat another bodies toxin filter? EWWWWWWWWWWWWW
-
yes
-
Not really. My mother was fond of it though. As a child we were served liver and onions that had been fried to very dry, overcooked and chewy. She always slathered it with mustard too. When I was older. I worked at an Italian restaurant, and there, we pan seared it to brown on both sides, removed it from the pan and seared the onions, then returned it to the pan and put in some water and red wine vinegar and simmered it until it was done. It was pretty good that way, but I still haven't eaten it in years.

I don't often buy the organ whole. But I do like a Liverwurst/Braunchwagger sandwich with lots of onion and mayo. Only when I'm really craving it though. Its high in bad fat. Also you should never eat Polar Bear liver. There is enough vitamin A in a polar bear liver to kill over 50 adults.

I do not like or eat any offal,
-
when i was younger i liked it with bacon..but not anymore..
-
once in a while...ok
