Why does the price of postage keep going up in the United States?

Fuel costs, retirement packages, higher wages and benefits packages higher vehicle prices, more employees to get the job done etc etc. The postage I remember when I was a kid was a 4 cent stamp with a picture of Abe Lincoln on it. Now it's close to .75 cents for the first class stamp! 4/23/25

The prices seem normal to me, since I prefer the instant gratification of communicating via online. 😀
