In the US, laws vary by state, and some states are still very permissive. * Kids in cars without car seats - is still extremely common, though more conscientious parents will insist on a car seat. * Answering the question with the worst things that come to mind: slavery; slave child prostitution; ritual child slave prostitution (commonplace in several different Pagan cultures the Mediterranean region in the Classical period, where a devout worshiper would go to temple and have sex with a child of the gender of their choice as an act of religious worship). Human sacrifice; live human sacrifice. Eating the flesh of other humans (either ritually or as food).. Etc. etc.
