From a financial point of view. It had to of been. We wont even talk about morals the rest of us live by. For the amount of money spent on the Iraq war alone world poverty could of been solved. lets start with Operation Desert Storm A few elites might not be rich or as powerfull as they are today if you brought halliburton shares in 1988 @ $6.05 by 1990 they were $12.88. https://ir.halliburton.com/stock-information/historical-price-lookup?8c7bdd83-a726-4a84-b969-494be2477e47%5BHAL_N%5D%5Bdate_month%5D=10&8c7bdd83-a726-4a84-b969-494be2477e47%5BHAL_N%5D%5Bdate_day%5D=8&8c7bdd83-a726-4a84-b969-494be2477e47%5BHAL_N%5D%5Bdate_year%5D=1988&url=

If we had not unseated Saddam, there would probably be peace and stability, for the most part, in the region. He and Iran would probably still be conspiring and competing against each other. and Iran might not have the resources to export so much terrorism. However, Saddam chose to invade Kuwait, and try to take over the nation and their resources. They. and Saudi Arabia screamed for help and we along with the UN answered. We drove Iraq out of Kuwait and hammered them until there was a formal surrender and peace terms agreed to. After a few years, Saddam decided to no longer abide by the terms of his surrender, and he became defiant. He was warned time and again that noncompliance would result in another invasion. He chose invasion. Alas, Insha Allah. The fears of him manufacturing the dreaded WMDs never panned out. It looks like he never was making them. So, by hindsight, I'd say it was a mistake. IMHO 10/8/4

Some soldiers would say so. Some have thrown their medals away, their testimonials are on YouTube
