Why would someone ask a question if they know the answer and then type the answer underneath where all answers go?

I have an elderly friend who doesn't use computers. I told him about this online question-and-answer forum, and he immediately hit upon the idea of using it to ask questions and answer his own questions to teach his religious beliefs to online users. * Frankly, I was shocked. Not that he wanted to use it for that purpose (he's very devout), but that he would eagerly use the forum in such a...deceptive way. *** But the example, I think, is instructive relative to your answer. Someone does that when they - for whatever reason, religious or not - deeply *desire* to disseminate what they believe to be true.

I ask questions and then put what I've said in the box in the answers as you miss it under the flags and report buttons. But I don't answer my own questions.
