I have known only 1 man actually from Ireland, and he was not a drinker due to a kidney disorder. Most of the Americans I know who say they are "Irish" without ever having been to the old country, are heavy drinkers, especially on the drinking occasions such as St. Patrick's day and Cinco de Mayo. Really about every weekend. 10/4/24

As Ive never been to Ireland maybe only the pissheads come to Australia I know plenty of Irishmen everyone of them is a powerdrinker when Ive come across Irsih back packers they were all on drinkiing holidays. Half of the Irish I know have been here over 40 years by now they all like drinking. Maybe the Irish trick the alcoholics to immigrant overseas as in hay paddy, beer is cheaper in Australia . the reality would be false especially now days as it would cost too much to spend 4 hours a day in the pub.
