Is it a good idea to use your ceiling fans with the AC?

We have both on at the same time.

No the fans will push the hot air down. Get the thermometer out measure room temp with the fan off, then put the fan on wait a bit then measure again. The room will be hotter.

I know that I'm much cooler with the ceiling fan on. If I don't have it on, I have to lower the temp on the thermostat (i.e. run the AC harder) in order to be comfortable.
