Back in the 70s when I lived in the mountains of Colorado I would go to the local grocery and have the owner cut me slices of salami in about 3/4 inch thick slices. I would make a couple of sandwiches, get my fly rod, and put my dog in my Jeep and off we would go up Deep Creek Canyon to fish. We had great times, me fishing and my dog running free.
