IMO it's too loose if the watch face "drifts" around your wrist so that you have to turn your wrist by different amount to see the face. It needs to be fairly tight to stop that from happening.

I quit wearing a watch when I retired. When I did wear watches, I liked expansion bands that kept the watch in place, but that could stretch so I could move it further up my arm when washing my hands or other wet work.
