Rubbish, huh? Aussies didn't think that way a few years ago when they were putting Chevy badges on their Holden cars. Apparently, your own car company was such an embarrassment that you had to disguise them as one of ours. 😆 I buy only GM cars.😏

11stevo73Holden wasn't really australian was it .only boy racers put chev badges on holdens. Do you think LS engines last well are leaky rear mains dropping oil on the driveway the norm?

GM crap. I don't like GM or any other type of American vehicles. They are crappy, the body lines/gaps are off, the paint will chip badly, the interiors are plain, while the engines give you problems when they reach 100,000 miles. My preferred choice are European vehicles to style in. I do have a Japanese 2006 Toyota Matrix, which is a work car. The car has over 200,000 miles, and it still runs smooth.

GM over it's long history has been an incredible innovator. Often times, though, those new innovations have done more harm to the world than good. For instance, GM is responsible for the invention of leaded gasoline, and they were at least 95% aware of the toxicity of it when they started marketing it. GM also developed the synthetic fuel that Nazi Germany ended up using in order to perform the Blitzkrieg. GM developed some of the first all-electric vehicles in the early early days, and is also responsible for coining the term EV and trying to bring them back in the 1990's. They also were key players in the development of self-driving vehicles (a project on which I worked in the early 2000's), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, developing the Diesel cycle into a more efficient engine, the invention of anti-lock brakes, blah blah blah no one probably cares because their cars nowadays look boring and have tons of quality issues. I guess that's what happens when you spend all of your corporate earnings on throwing a ton of crap at the wall to see what sticks, and, eventually, the crap stops sticking. It kind of makes it ironic that they recently retired the GM "mark of excellence" in favour of the understated (and kind of boring) lowercase "gm".

the quality of their cars I was asking about or the lack of quaility control on their production lines. It now over for me I'LL never have to work on another GM car so I no longer care we got rid of all our holdens they were all pos anyway.
