  • The quote I got was, "Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” - same thing, I reckon. Basically, all it's saying is, "Don't judge a book by its cover." You need to read what led up to the statement to understand it in the right context. You can't just pull out a passage and then say, "I wonder what this means?". Read what led up to it and the answer to that question will usually come to you. I learned long ago that people generally don't like to read (too bad, since this is how they become educated or well-informed), and so they miss out on a lot of facts. This is no reflection on you - it's directed at society as a whole. People don't want to read and educate themselves, so they are unable to think for themselves - aaaaaand this leads us into the political arena. I prefer to stay away from that subject on this issue. 😒
  • I'm not sure any of us can make righteous judgements, even Jesus said that even though he'd been in the presence of the Father, and knows his judgement, he judges no man. This is because man isn't only hung up on outward appearances, (the flesh) but has his own internal prejudices, that he may not even be aware of, which always makes for an unfair judge. This is why when the woman was going to be stoned for adultery, Jesus drew a line and said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." The best we can do is "May the Lord rebuke you," bearing in mind that if we are guilty of the same, then we deserve rebuking. For God's judgement is righteous.
