If the US benefits from cheap labor, then why is illegal immigration bad for the country?

The word "illegal" should give you a clue. Illegal immigration would open the door to terrorism and others who would like nothing more than to turn the US into a 3rd world country. They already don't like our laws (hence "illegal" immigrants) - but they sure like our milk and honey, don't they? How long do you suppose America could survive under these conditions?

Because illegal immigration results in more available labor than our market can bear - results in illegal work conditions for said laborers - results in a HUGE taxpayer expense in social programs for the unemployed and illegally employed - results in criminals (by which I mean: crimes OTHER than illegal immigration itself) immigrating to and living in our country - etc. etc. etc. *** CONTROLLED LEGAL immigration is more than sufficient to supply the "cheap labor" force that benefits the U.S. Illegal immigration far exceeds that need and causes umpteen problems - and expenses for the U.S. taxpayer.
