  • What you saw was choreographed. Although anything is possible in real life, mimicking Hollywood choreography isn't very likely.
  • I was minding my own business in the gym one day, and a bigger older kid ran up behind me and jumped onto my back. I immediately bent forward quite low and pulled on his hands when he stuck them out to try and prevent sliding off of my back. That move flipped him onto his back, and knocked the wind out of him. While he was laying on the floor trying to catch a breath, I straddled him and punched him in the face twice before the coach made me stop. I left him lying there with a bloody nose and a split lip and having a hard time breathing. I won that one. He caught up with me later though and I was the one who was bloody then. So, yes, a well timed flip can put you at an advantage in combat.
  • Yeah, those moves look cool on tv, but like 1465 said they are choreographed. In reality you NEVER EVER intentionally turn your back on an opponent.
  • If someone tried to use a flip in a fight against a competent opponent, the move would merely cost them the fight, most likely. Every real fight I've ever seen was ugly and messy.
