I take my shoes and socks off every time I walk in the door. My Diabetic feet really find them far too uncomfortable.

I wear socks in my apartment. It has radiant heat from the floor, so it's warm, but I don't want to have footprints on the wood floor that would be there from oils in my feet if I were to go barefoot.
