    Yes, this is true. Historically the European royal families tended to marry into each other for political or strategic reasons, also to keep the bloodline "royal." Philip was a prince in the Greek royal family but also related to the British, German, Danish & Russian royals. He and Queen Elizabeth are both great-great grandchildren of Queen Victoria.
