Most people think of the serpent as representative of Satan; you're the first person I've heard of who thought of the tree as symbolizing Satan. Either way, though, my point is that Satan represents the pursuit of knowledge in the story. The rest of the Bible is pretty consistent in praising the pursuit of knowledge as a positive thing to do. God is presented as the keeper of all knowledge, but also as an entity who either keeps this knowledge secret or only reveals it to people in extremely cryptic ways, whereas Satan is depicted as the one who open shares his knowledge with humans in order to turn them away from God. -

Cry me a River Willfully ignorant is referring to the unregenerate man.. Satan is sinful on purpose,, why try to be like him.? Yet people do.. it brings death.. and mans sin brought death to our Savior.. why not trust him? And live in bliss forever?

One could paraphrase the entire chapter 1 as: "Life sucks and then you die, and it's all pointless." Ecclesiastes 3:19-20: "Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return." So, according to this passage of the Bible, there is no afterlife, and there is no point in studying the Bible. It really makes one wonder.

Cry me a River I don,t expect you as an unregenerate person, to even begin to understand the Bible. The Holy Spirit wrote it and without him nobody has a first clue.. God gave everyone a conscience, why not agree with the simplest verses? All have sinned, the wages of sin is death, for God so loved the world,,,etc.
