They do say that, but I disagree. I don't think of hate as a strong dislike. Hatred is an obsession with the destruction of a person or thing. Someone might say "I hate Paris," and simply not travel there. That is not hatred of Paris. Someone else might say "I hate Paris" and then spend the next seventeen years obtaining materials for a nuclear bomb and devise a plan to destroy the city. *That* is true hatred. And, I don't think that such an obsession is "learned" per se, but typically, before a person hates another person or a place or a thing, the hater will hold a love of the target and then feel some form of betrayal or such and develop an even deeper obsession with the person, place, or thing, than the hater had when there was love.

I agree. But there was an episode on a tv show were a child consumed its twin in the womb and went on to kill others.
