No. But I have seen it growing in the fields. It is low to the ground so would be hard on the back. Not to mention the heat and humidity! I did de-tassle corn one summer when I was 15 or 16. That wasn't as hot because it was in Iowa.

I've picked it, and there's nothing to it. I come closer to believing you want everything handed to you. Geez, where have I heard that before? :/

I picked it as a child but stayed by the side of the field mostly. I hated it back then. Now I can not.

I have planted cotton, picked cotton, weighed cotton, taken cotton to the gin, just about all concerning cotton. Yes, picking by hand is hard on fingers as the bowls cut them and tear up the cuticles. Good pickers pick 700 to 1000 pounds per day. I usually picked between 350 to 450 per day. I don't think I would like to do it today but I would if I needed to.

Nope. I was bailing hay though from the time I was about 6. My old man had my brother and I busting our balls on the neighbor's farm every day we weren't in school.

No. but I cut a lot of grapes in the CA vineyards in my youth. Hornets, black widows and crop dusters made it very challenging at times. 3/5/24
