  • G. K. Chesterton, British author of early 20th century "Father Brown" detective fiction. Children invent all kinds of things, and we adults seem to do our best to dispel them of their inventions.
  • true, dont know who said it
  • False. That's like saying "The news doesn't tell us what's happened. We already assume the worst. It simply tells us things could be worse, still". A lot of quotes by fictions authors are bullcrap made to sound philosophical.

I knew evil long before I knew what a dragon was! And no one had to tell me.
    • Archie Bunker
Who says dragons are evil? And even what is evil is subjective.
    • Linda Joy
I didn't hear anyone say it. And I don't think evil is subjective.
    • Archie Bunker
Some people thought that Hitler was evil. Others obviously didn't. That makes it subjective. Children's minds are a blank slate. It's their environment that tells them what is and what isn't.
  • Nope. It sounds like a good quote but is utter bullshit. The original purpose of "fairy tales" was to store knowledge of a people. Way before paper was invented people had to remember events and information. Making them into stories was easier to remember than chipping them into a rock. Children were little to do with it until hey became commercial markets for "authors" around the 18th century.

So why don't you post what you think are good quotes?
