Could my 2004 chevy monte carlos have a bad transmission?
I have a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo v6 and recently for the past few weeks I've noticed that when I first start up the car and drive it it'll accelerate to like 35 mph at most then when I try to speed up it won't I push and push the gas pedal and only the rpm moves eventually it drives just fine but this always happens after hours of not being driven, is it the transmission if so what do I do next?

it could just need a speed sensor replacement, but it does sound like a transmission issue
