  • They just don't care enough. As my old DI used to say, if you're not 15 minutes early, you're 15 minutes late.
  • May just be as simple as lack of time management, may be a power game, strictly habit, may not be about them or you, or about forty other things.
  • theyre probably doing something else when they should be leaving their house
  • theyre lazy about getting ready on time
  • Some people are just irresponsible, either by fear, laziness or they don't give a you know what. 🤬
  • I used to think it was intentional, until I read up on it. It can actually be a symptom of a mental illness in some people. Either way if they are not on time I'll leave without them. https://psychcentral.com/adhd/why-are-people-with-adhd-always-late#adhd-and-lateness
  • It seems to me to be cultural. In Germany, people were rarely ever late to anything. In Switzerland, people were were usually 30 minutes early. In Mexico, people seem to always be running 5 minutes late. In Detroit, you might as well tell everyone the thing starts half an hour earlier than it does. In Russia, it seemed like everything just sort of happened whenever people felt like it, without any sort of schedule to the day. But think about it. It's got to be contagious. If I schedule a meeting for 8:00 AM, and no one shows up until 8:30, I'm left with the choice of either getting nothing done at the meeting or missing my 8:30 appointments. Right, so, if enough people in your circle routinely run late for things, it's going to rub off on you for sure - it's just a matter of how long it takes to take effect.
