Yes, I have Googled this. Most common explanation is that we make our own destiny (fate) by free will choices. Seems like words were assigned new definitions in order to have a cleaver play on words. Yes-- has been asked before. Thank you.

I think some people may believe that you have a choice but destiny is when the choice you make leads back to the same choice again and again until you make the choice that is destined. Religiously I believe God gave us the ability to choose for ourselves when it comes to our own lives. But that His will will be done overall in the end. Scientifically I believe that probability wave functions disprove destiny.

Linda Joy I believe the quote for the most part. Most of these definitions of destiny indicate a course of events that will happen in our lives, but I think our choice determines the outcome.
