Does anybody have university opinions for aspiring med student from the Caribbean
Hi, I’m 17 and have grown up in the Caribbean. I am sure that I want to become a doctor or at least work in the medical field. Where I live I’m a little stumped with getting the help I need to go through this deciding process and it all looks so confusing online because I’m not used to the terms I’m seeing causing me to panic when I see all the things I don’t have in place yet I should. I just left High School/ Secondary school and I’m currently attending my countries community college but I’m ready to start applying for Universities to get my undergrad bachelor’s degree and I’m really feeling down about my chances of getting accepted into a good school; I’m not the brightest and I’m not the most social and athletic but I feel that I have the potential. I’m going to write my SATs in a few months and my GPA isn’t all that great— The highest it can be when I leave community college is 3.5 and I’m considering Uni.s around the standard of UCLA and Berkeley. I’m smart so I know I can put the work in but I just need some help and guidance and some realistic advice on where I should go from here.
Not only undergrad, but I m also looking for good medical schools. Yes, I ve considered staying in my region but being in the US is what s best, I ve weighed the options already and the Caribbean doesn t have the right resources for me to pursue.
Thanks so much in advance
