Yes, Jumping genes (AKA transposons or mobile genetic elements) are regions of the genome that can "jump" from one region to another. They are often complexed with enzymes, ie transposase, that allows them to do this. They can have both beneficial (ie. genetic diversity for driving evolution) and deleterious effects on the organism (helping retroviral integration or causing cancer).
