Because we medically need them !! lol If you have a limited number of outfits then you can change the whole look of an outfit by changing your shoes and accessories. We also need different shoes depending on the weather - it isn't practical to wear strappy sandles in the cold and wet. If you are wearing long trousers or a long skirt, then high heels are better but if you are going to be on your feet all day/night then you go for comfort rather than looks. These are only a few examples for just a few different pairs if shoes - the reasons are endless. My boyfriend moans too!
-
It is a simple answer... No matter how fat you feel, bloated, ugly and gross, shoes always look good on your feet no matter what.
-
Shoes are ammo when an argument gets physical.. lol
-
I never understood it myselfe. I hate shoes, I hate the look of them and it's a real torture when I have to shop for a pair.
-
Cause we NEED them. Seriously! We have to have something that goes with everything, casual dress shoes, casual tennis shoes, dressy tennis shoes, comfy house shoes, company house shoes, f**k me pumps, casual pumps, dressy but not slutty pumps, slutty but not f**k me pumps, stillettos, and each style needs at least two color choices. Our shoe collection is NEVER complete. EVER.
-
I never quite understood the thing behind the shoes until recently. I have now come to LOVE shoes. Even though I don't own a hundred pairs or anything, I still love shopping for them every once in a while. Its decoration for our feet!! ;)
-
It's mathematically impossible to have to many! Different style/color outfits require differnt style/colors of shoes. That's the short answer.
-
Umm...to match the vast number of permutations and combinations that chics care about, especially if it is associated with their attire. Oh..and...the fact that they can distinguish between colors better than men, so there are more shades...
-
I don't.

I think Jay Z says it best "I like a girl to dress, but I Love a good Shoe." Shoe always tell alot about a person.
-
I don't know. I wish I had a good answer. In the past two weeks, I returned a defective pair, got two more pairs. Then after wandering aimlessly in Sears, I picked up another pair. Must be hardwired in the female brain.
-
A pair for each outfit of course...and other options, just in case. Men wear different colored and patterned ties with suits, right?
-
Same reason men cheat. It's an over generalization, I have one pair of sport sandals I wear all summer, one pair of dress shoes, one pair of winterboots and one pair of running shoes. most of the "Ladies" I know have the same amount or less.
-
I shall not profess to speak for all women, but for myself personally, the reason I have so many pairs of shoes is that I keep thinking eventually I will find a pair that is comfortable. Alas, that has not happened yet, but I continue to search. And despite what men believe, there are differences between beige, taupe, ecru and eggshell. I would try to explain those differences but both our heads would explode!!
-
People collect things because they take pride in owning alot of things. They might have a esteem problem so if it's with shoes it makes them feel prettier than they think they do and the fact that owning alot makes them look like they have more going for themselves than they actually do.
-
i've got the perfect answer for you, we like shoes as much as you like sex :) i don't think you need any kind of explanation now
-
I only have 4 pairs of shoes 2 pairs of sneakers 1black the other white. and 2 dress shoes, 1black and the other white. I am not a shoe person, if I had my way I would never wear shoes.
-
Well first, let me just say that my husband and I are both shoe snobs, but since I stopped working in an office about 6 years ago, my shoe collection has stopped growing. In fact, after my last two pregnancies, I gave away a lot of my favorite shoessss <bursts into tears>!!! Anyway, I think that one reason that many women have more shoes than men is simply because womens shoes are generally not made to last in the same way that mens shoes are. They are just not as sturdy. Also, mens shoes trends revolve around more classic styles, while womens shoes trends change with the wind. Okay, that's my thought on the matter. Now I am suddenly having an urge to go shoes shopping. I can't figure out why though.....
-
Because shoes are beautiful and fun! They can make or break an outfit, and it's important to have as many options as possible!
-
I will say that this is a gross stereotype, but sometimes it happens, mostly because shoes are a lot less versatile than other articles of clothing. One pair will not go with every outfit. We need a rainbow, and some need to be flats, heels...we probably have the same amount of T-shirts, I don't know why shoes should be so different.
-
Because they make our feet look great, our outfits perfect and ourselves feel beautiful! Oh and because we can.
-
My wife always tells me "just one more pair!"
-
About 20 or so. Five for every season and five for special occasions.
-
I only need one. I usully only wear a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor's, and that pretty much says it for the "actual need" part of the question. As for psychological need, I say this should about cover it: ∞
-
i have over 30 shoes in different colors. A girl can never have too many shoes.
-
uh, well I got one old pair to keep in my locker at school for P.E., another pair that I wear places, and sandals for when its hot out.
-
Because we need different heel heights, and because women wear more colors than men do when dressing up. So while a man might need just black and brown loafers to wear with his clothes for work and church, a woman might have black flats, brown flats, black pumps, brown pumps, blue pumps, blue flats, beige pumps, and beige flats. Actually, I only have about 15 pairs (I'm wearing the black pumps today).
-
I am not sure... I have alot of them, when just a couple would suffice for anything I wear, I just hate it that they keep making new ones, OK i am weak lol
-
because there's no such thing as too many shoes. i think i share a soul with emelda marcos. **kisses**

As a guy you are right to understand that a woman wants to be sexy and get your attention. It builds her confidence to have a new outfit or new shoes when starting a new relatoionship or job. For guys the real question is DO YOU NOTICE AND APPRECIATE how the lady in your life dresses and wants to be stylish, or do youcomplain about the cost or are completely oblivious to her new look? The best way to attract the woman you seek is to pay attention to her, notice the new hairstyle, matching outfit, learn about Brighton (leather goods with silver inlays) and others without learning it all. What woman does not want to be mysterious to the men in her lives? I dare you to go shopping with the lady in your life. Hold the boxes of shoes while she shops, ask her which look and feel best for her, BUY her a pair yourself, besides what she budgets. Hold open the doors for her, take her for coffee, lunch, afternooin tea, cheesecake, etc, as a part of your shopping experience. If you will LEAVE the TV DURING football season to spend time with her she will be SHOCKED and will wonder why you are doing this. The truth is you just want to spend time with her and get to know her better. Do Not shop for her. IF she asks your opinion, share honestly but never brutally. Just be there for her and TALK to her when she is open to it. When she is fighting other ladies for the 81/2 80 percent of sale at Macy's, hold the boxes she is interested in and a chair she can sit in to try them on. Otherwise DO NOTHING! Between shops or floors of a shop, offer Public display of afection, hold hands, gaze into her eyes, BUILD THE RELATIONSHIP YOU DESERVE!!! Sometimes I have been the only male in this siuation. It is amazing to me how many ladies WISH their boyfirnd/LTR, spouse, would care about them SOMETIMES. At other times they need to shop and share with their friends and you are not really able to assist in that situation. One lady I know went shopping to COMMUNICATE with her husband. He was clueless and wanted to be a couch potato. She shopped, put a blouse on hold, and went for coffee with him. She had his undivided attention, bu he was clueless. She shopped and then they stopped for lunch. He was still fuming and clueless. She shopped more and stopped in the afternoon for tea. He asked if she was going to shop all day. She replied, IF THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO REALLY TALK WITH YOU TODAY!!!!! After chatting for an hour she gladly bought the first blouse she had put on hold (1 of 6) and allowed him to go watch football. If he had been aware, they would not have shopped as long, but she was determined to get him to talk and to hear what she NEEDED to tell him. What a wise woman. Guys, why date and have relationships or marriages if you are unconcerned. This may be foreign but it can help you in your situation if it fits. IMLOVER
